About Us

Founded 20 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 600 people operating throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.

Overview

We are seeking a full-stack developer to join our risk team. This role supports the design, build, and operation of the in-house risk engine, which powers real-time calculation and monitoring of PnL, VaR, greeks, risk slides, and other key risk metrics.

The ideal candidate combines solid backend and frontend development skills with strong DevOps fundamentals and hands-on experience using AI tooling in day-to-day development. You will work closely with senior risk developers, quantitative analysts, and market risk analysts to turn financial models into reliable, production-ready applications and keep them running smoothly under live trading conditions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain real-time risk systems used daily by risk, traders, and executives, including:
    • 24/5 live PnL tracking
    • VaR and other exposure calculations
    • Web-based risk dashboards
    • Interactive analytical tools
    • Alerting and monitoring systems
  • Own deployment, CI/CD, and infrastructure for risk applications: containerization, pipeline automation, environment management, observability, and incident response.
  • Improve system reliability, performance, and availability, with a focus on low latency and stability during market hours.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to accelerate development, testing, documentation, and debugging.
  • Develop and enhance applications that integrate LLM APIs for automation, analysis, and workflow improvements.
  • Build responsive front-end interfaces for visualizing and interacting with risk metrics.
  • Collaborate with the risk team to understand requirements and implement risk models.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and tested code; participate in code reviews and design discussions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
