A leading UK law firm is looking for a Risk Lawyer (Claims & Complaints) to join its Risk & Compliance function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor with experience handling professional indemnity claims, complaints and regulatory matters, ideally gained within a law firm, professional indemnity insurer or a related insurance environment.

The successful candidate will provide specialist legal and risk advice across the firm, helping to manage claims and complaints, mitigate risk and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and professional obligations.

Key Responsibilities for the Risk Lawyer (Claims & Complaints):

  • Manage and advise on professional negligence claims, potential claims and client complaints from initial notification through to resolution.
  • Provide legal and risk advice to partners and fee earners in relation to claims, complaints and associated risk issues.
  • Liaise with professional indemnity insurers, brokers and external solicitors on claims and coverage matters.
  • Assess potential exposure and advise on appropriate risk mitigation and escalation.
  • Advise on insurance, professional indemnity and regulatory issues affecting the firm.
  • Work closely with the firm's wider Risk & Compliance, General Counsel and insurance functions.
  • Support the development and review of relevant policies, procedures and guidance relating to claims, complaints, professional indemnity and risk management.
  • Keep up to date with developments in relevant legal, regulatory and professional indemnity requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
