The Multi Make Asset Risk team is responsible for managing the residual value (RV) and maintenance (SMR) risk for the non-BMW Group brands on the BMW Financial Services vehicle portfolio, this includes both Alphabet GB Limited and Alphera Financial Services. This involves forecasting the RV and SMR for all available non-Group vehicle manufacturers and models for the Alphabet and Alphera quotation system, as well as managing the risk of vehicles currently on the live fleet, all of which is critical to the success and profitability of the business.

What awaits you?
- Analyse large and complex datasets relating to retail finance portfolios, vehicle values, maintenance costs, vehicle usage and market trends.
- Explore and develop the use of available data through industry-recognised analytical tools and techniques, including data mining and statistical analysis.
- Support the development and enhancement of financial loss forecasting models, credit scorecards and risk methodologies.
- Become involved in vehicle value forecasting activities, including time-series analysis, regression techniques and scenario testing.
- Analyse new and used vehicle markets, including auction data, vehicle depreciation trends and residual value performance.
- Assist in integrating economic factors into existing forecasting and risk models, optimising methodologies and assessing business impacts.
- Support the implementation of statistical models into live systems and contribute to ongoing performance monitoring and model improvement activities.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reporting, presenting findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders, working groups and committees.
- Support the management of residual value (RV) and service, maintenance and repair (SMR) risk across a broad range of vehicle manufacturers and models.
- Respond to risk-related queries from internal stakeholders and support wider team activities and projects.
- Collaborate with a variety of departments including Commercial, Remarketing, Controlling, Data and wider BMW Group teams.
- Support communications with external data suppliers and vehicle manufacturers.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, operational risk management activities and audit requirements.
- Monitor developments within the UK automotive market, including emerging technologies, electrification trends and factors influencing vehicle values.

What should you bring along?
- Studying towards a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and on track to achieve a 2:1 or above (or equivalent), such as Mathematics, Economics, Business Studies, Finance or a related numerate subject.
- Strong Excel skills are essential.
- Knowledge of SAS, Qlik Sense or other data analysis and database software would be advantageous.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- An interest in the automotive industry, vehicle manufacturers and market trends would be beneficial.
- Ability to confidently engage with stakeholders at all levels in a professional and diplomatic manner.
- Previous part-time experience in a customer service or business environment would be advantageous.
- Experience leading teams through university projects, societies or volunteering activities would be beneficial.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise effectively while managing multiple tasks.
- Naturally inquisitive, proactive, and keen to learn.
- Strong team player who actively supports colleagues and contributes to team success.
