Risk Manager

Job Type: Contract (Inside IR35)
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 12 Month Project
Pay rate: Competitive
Location: Bristol
Hours of work: 40 Hours Per Week – Monday to Friday

Role information

We are recruiting for a Risk Manager with expertise in cost, schedule, risk, and/or quality to support the delivery of complex engineering and infrastructure projects across the energy, nuclear, renewable, and wider low carbon sectors.

In your role you will be ensuring that project risks and opportunities are proactively identified, assessed, monitored, and managed throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers, Project Controls teams, technical specialists, and stakeholders, you will provide insights to support informed decision making, improve project predictability, and enhance delivery performance.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining project risk management processes to support project delivery.
  • Facilitating risk identification, assessment and prioritisation workshops with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring risk exposure and actions, highlighting emerging risks, trends, issues, and areas requiring attention.
  • Supporting Project Managers and project teams in developing and implementing risk response and contingency strategies.
  • Producing risk reports, dashboards, and analyses, including qualitative and quantitative assessments of project, schedule, and cost risks, supporting project governance and decision-making.
  • Working closely with project controls, planning, commercial and engineering teams to ensure integrated risk management.
  • Supporting assurance activities, audits and governance reviews relating to project risk management.
  • Promoting risk management tools, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications/Experience

  • All candidates will be Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Business Management, or a similar technical discipline.
  • Candidates must hold a recognised project management or risk management qualification, for example APM, PMI or ISO 31000.
  • You will have experience in project risk management, working within a highly regulated sector.
  • You will also have experience applying risk management principles throughout the project lifecycle. As well as experience in facilitating risk workshops and engaging multidisciplinary stakeholders.
