Senior Manager, Credit Risk Oversight
As a Senior Manager in Credit Risk Oversight, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of credit quality across Nationwide’s lending portfolios. Acting as the Secured Risk oversight partner, you will serve as a subject matter expert across the full credit management lifecycle for this portfolio.
About the Role
You will lead a team of credit risk experts, ensuring the development of Credit Risk Strategy aligned with Nationwide’s strategic direction. This role involves:
- Balancing prudence in protecting members’ funds with sustainable economic returns.
- Setting credit policy and providing independent opinions at Group Credit Committee and MRT levels.
- Maintaining a comprehensive view of end-to-end credit risk management.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Conducting regular deep dives into credit policy and its risk mitigants, aligning them with evolving threats and opportunities while maintaining a sound balance between risk and reward.
- Overseeing the assessment of IFRS 9 provisions to ensure provisions are adequate and reflect current and future risks.
- Incorporating forecasts into financial planning and stress testing processes.

This is a high-profile position with a wide scope of influence, involving:
- Delivering second-line opinions to the Group Credit Committee and Credit Risk Management Forums.
- Deputising for the Head of Credit Risk Oversight as required.
- Participating in Credit Model Technical Forums to ensure model approvals reflect the current operating and risk environment.

Working Hours
- Per week: Between 28 and 35 hours
