Risk Manager – Defense
Role Overview
CCL Global is seeking an experienced Risk Manager to support a major UK Defence programme based in Corsham.
The successful candidate will take ownership of risk management, programme planning, and performance reporting, ensuring risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies are accurately maintained and reflected in project schedules and delivery plans.
This is a hands-on role within a secure environment, requiring a proactive individual who can manage competing priorities, engage with senior stakeholders, and provide clear, timely reporting to support programme delivery.
- Location: Corsham, Wiltshire
- Contract: 12 months + Extension (Inside IR35)
- Security Clearance: Active DV essential
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain programme-wide RAIDO logs, ensuring risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and opportunities are accurately recorded, assessed, and regularly updated.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and plans using MSP, ensuring activities, milestones, and dependencies are aligned with programme objectives.
- Identify, assess, and monitor delivery risks, working with stakeholders to agree on mitigation actions and track progress.
- Prepare performance reports, dashboards, and management information to support programme governance and decision-making.
- Ensure changes to risks, dependencies, and assumptions are reflected in project plans, schedules, and reporting.
- Support resource planning and the effective allocation of resources across programme activities.
- Maintain risk-management strategies and plans, ensuring they remain current as programme requirements evolve.
- Work closely with project managers, delivery teams, and other stakeholders to identify emerging risks and resolve planning or delivery issues.
- Support governance meetings and assurance activities by providing accurate risk, schedule, and performance information.
- Prioritise activities and deliver reporting to short deadlines within a busy programme environment.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Active DV clearance with at least six months remaining.
- Strong MSP planning experience and the ability to maintain complex project schedules.
- Proven experience managing programme risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Experience preparing and presenting project or programme performance reports.
- Strong understanding of risk-management processes, mitigation planning, and governance.
- Experience coordinating resources and managing competing delivery priorities.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- A proactive, self-starting approach, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience
- Previous experience delivering risk management or project controls within MOD or a comparable Defence environment.
- Experience supporting complex, security-sensitive programmes with multiple stakeholders and interdependent workstreams.
Security Requirements
- Applicants must hold active DV clearance and meet the requirements for STRAP access. Additional security eligibility checks will apply.
