Your Responsibilities

Our Risk Team is expanding and we have an exciting opportunity for a Risk Manager to lead the development and operation of the risk management framework (and associated disciplines) across the European business.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Support the European business in the execution of all aspects of the Risk Management Framework
  • Lead the development of value-add tools and approaches to utilise risk management in every key aspect of decision making across the European Business
  • Act as a subject matter expert and consultant to senior business stakeholders in all aspects of risk management, including regulatory mandates
  • Ensure that the risk management approach remains relevant, effective, and compliant to law, standard and regulation as appropriate
  • Lead the reporting, delivery and identification of relevant risks to the appropriate Boards and Committees
  • Primary focus in Europe, but scope to provide support across the International business is highly valued
  • You would also deliver regulatory required elements of the Risk Management Framework under the FCA rulebook (for instance TC2.4)

You should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in implementing and operating risk management frameworks and GRC systems
  • Experience of the insurance industry/London Market / broking would be highly desirable
  • Must be able to influence and provide strategic business partner/pro-active advice and guidance to senior leaders
  • Should be an assured self starter able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise work, deliver results, and provide support to senior roles through tactical and strategic planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyse, articulate and present complex issues clearly and concisely.
  • Must be able to lead and develop a team
  • Must work well in a complex organisation
  • Proven technical ability around risk management, implementing ERM frameworks and GRC systems
  • Intimate understanding of UK FCA risk management requirements and European risk standards is desirable
  • Proven ability to make commercial, risk-based decisions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Must have delivery orientation, initiative, and drive
  • Ability to work with a high-degree of autonomy and be results-driven with a flexible approach to working
  • Strong conceptual thinking and problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and convey risk clearly.
