Risk Manager – First Line – Private Banking / Wealth Management (Contract)
A wealth manager is seeking an experienced First Line Risk Manager to support the development of a UK Private Banking and Wealth Management business during a key development phase. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will establish the first-line risk framework, ensuring the emerging UK proposition meets regulatory expectations and is built on robust governance from the outset. You will lead Consumer Duty mapping, advise the business on first-line risk requirements, support regulatory permissions, design governance and reporting frameworks, and help shape a compliant operating model that reflects the specific requirements of the UK market rather than replicating international approaches. This is a hands-on contract role suited to an experienced risk professional who can balance strategic thinking with practical delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive first-line risk management experience within UK Private Banking, Wealth Management, or Financial Services.
- Strong knowledge of FCA regulation, Consumer Duty, and UK regulatory expectations.
- Experience designing and implementing governance, risk, and reporting frameworks.
- Proven ability to support regulatory permissions and advise business stakeholders on risk requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership while delivering pragmatic solutions.

This is an initial six-month contract, based in London, at £550-600/day PAYE rate (cf. £680-715 Umbrella rate).
