About the Role
Portuguese language is essential
Our client is an international EMI firm, seeking a Risk Officer to join the Risk & Compliance team. The role will focus on operational risk but will also cover wider risk responsibilities across TPRM, safeguarding, prudential risk and AML.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the monitoring process of outsourced functions and those provided on a shared services basis;
- Perform periodic third-party risk assessments (Third Party Risk Assessment);
- Monitor compliance with SLAs, KPIs, KRIs and controls defined for each provider;
- Ensure the updating of the outsourcing register and respective supporting documentation;
- Prepare periodic reports on the effectiveness of implemented controls, reporting to the CRO, Board of Directors and Sole Supervisor;
- Monitor action plans aimed at mitigating identified deficiencies;
- Ensure that business continuity and contingency plans associated with outsourced functions remain updated and tested;
- Support the implementation of EBA Guidelines on Outsourcing Arrangements and other applicable regulatory requirements;
- Participate in the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of the institution's operational risks;
- Support the Risk & Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process;
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of the Risk Appetite Framework;
- Support the maintenance of the register of operational incidents and operational losses;
- Support the monitoring of the institution's capital prudential requirements;
- Support the monitoring of controls associated with the safeguarding of client funds, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations to EMIs;
- Perform analysis of KYC processes, customer profiles and transactions;
- Support the monitoring of alerts from internal AML systems;
- Collaborate in the risk assessment of customers, products, distribution channels and geographies;
- Prepare documentation and reports intended for competent authorities;
- Ensure the organized maintenance of mandatory records and evidence;
- Collaborate in periodic reviews of internal AML/CFT procedures;
- Support internal and external audit actions and regulatory inspections;
- Work in close collaboration with Operations, Legal, Compliance and Technology teams in mitigating risks and continuous process improvement.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Risk Management, Outsourcing Risk, Operational Risk or Third Party Risk Management roles in a financial institution or fintech
- Knowledge of applicable regulation to Payment Institutions and Electronic Money Institutions;
- Experience in monitoring outsourcing contracts and risk assessment of service providers;
- Knowledge of operational risk management and internal control methodologies;
- Knowledge in AML/CFT and financial regulation;
- Experience in preparing risk reports, indicators (KPIs/KRIs) and executive reports
