About the Role
The Risk Practitioner supports successful project delivery by identifying, assessing and managing risks and opportunities, with a focus on developing and maintaining risk-informed project schedules.
Working within the Project Controls and wider delivery team, the role helps integrate risk information with schedules to provide a clear view of uncertainty and its potential impact on project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- π Identify, assess and manage project risks and opportunities.
- π Develop and maintain risk-based project schedules.
- π€ Support risk reviews and workshops with project teams and stakeholders.
- ποΈ Maintain accurate risk information across relevant systems and registers.
- β οΈ Assess schedule uncertainty and potential impacts on milestones and completion dates.
- π Carry out quantitative schedule risk analysis to support forecasting and decision-making.
- π Work closely with planners, Project Controls and delivery teams to integrate risk into schedules.
- π οΈ Support risk response, mitigation and monitoring activities.
- π Produce clear reports highlighting key risks, schedule drivers, uncertainty and emerging trends.
- π Support continuous improvement of project risk processes, tools and techniques.

Qualifications
Essential Experience
- π Proven project risk management experience within a project or programme environment.
- π Experience developing and analysing risk-based schedules.
- π Experience with quantitative schedule risk analysis and interpreting results.
- π€ Experience supporting risk reviews and workshops.
- π Strong understanding of risk, scheduling, project controls and forecasting.
- π» Experience using risk management and scheduling software.
- π£οΈ Able to analyse information and communicate risk impacts clearly.
Essential Qualifications
- π Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in risk management, project controls, project management, engineering or a related field.
- π Working knowledge of recognised risk management principles and techniques.
Desirable Experience
- ποΈ Experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure or complex projects.
- β’οΈ Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
- π° Experience integrating risk with cost and schedule information.
- π― Experience supporting risk workshops and scenario modelling.
- π€ Experience working with contractors and supply chains.
- π Experience producing risk information for reviews, forecasting and decision-making.
Desirable Qualifications
- π APM Project Risk Management or equivalent.
- π MoR Practitioner or equivalent risk qualification.
- π Relevant project controls or project management qualification.
- π Membership of a relevant professional body.
Additional Information
- π― The role focuses on applying risk management to support project planning, scheduling and delivery.
- π A key requirement is developing and maintaining risk-based schedules that reflect risks, opportunities and uncertainty.
- π€ Youβll work closely with project managers, planners, Project Controls and stakeholders to keep risk information aligned with the current project position.
- π‘ The role supports decision-making through risk analysis but does not own project delivery or individual project risks.
- βοΈ Project-specific systems, tools, reporting and governance will be defined for each assignment.
