Risk Business Analyst

We are seeking a Business Analyst to leverage strong Business Analyst skills to enhance risk reporting processes within a large investment bank. The role focuses on ensuring effective migration and compliance with regulatory standards in risk reporting specific to BCBS 239.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document reporting requirements, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct current-state and target-state process mapping.
  • Perform data mapping and reconciliation across source systems, risk engines, and reporting platforms.
  • Analyze data using SQL; utilize Excel and Power BI/Tableau for reporting.
  • Define data-quality controls and resolve reporting discrepancies.
  • Support risk reporting migrations, conducting gap analysis, mapping, and parallel runs.
  • Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenarios and defect management.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across Risk, Finance, Technology, Data, and regulatory-reporting teams.
  • Translate complex risk concepts into clear technical specifications.
  • Maintain discipline in governance, documentation, and audit trails.
  • Collaborate with global teams while managing system and workstream dependencies.
  • Apply knowledge of BCBS 239 where applicable.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong core Business Analyst skills.
  • Banking risk experience, preferably within a large investment bank.
  • Experience with risk reporting migrations.
  • Knowledge of risk types (credit, market, liquidity, operational risk).
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting and governance requirements.
  • Strong data-analysis skills including SQL.
  • Experience in defining data-quality controls.
  • Experience in UAT planning and execution.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to document and translate technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of Power BI/Tableau.
  • Understanding of reporting calculations, metrics, thresholds, and aggregation logic.
  • Familiarity with BCBS 239.
