About You

We are looking for someone who is confident working autonomously with complex adult clinical risk and safeguarding presentations, while also enjoying collaborative working and supporting the development of others. You will need:

• Current registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
• Significant post-registration clinical experience, including experience of working with adults presenting with clinical risk and/or safeguarding needs.
• Strong specialist knowledge and practical experience of adult safeguarding, including identifying, assessing, managing and escalating safeguarding concerns.
• Experience of adult clinical risk assessment and risk management, including complex or changing presentations.
• Current knowledge of relevant adult safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, professional standards and multi-agency safeguarding processes.
• Experience of managing complex and sensitive clinical and safeguarding situations with a high degree of professional autonomy.
• Experience of providing specialist clinical advice, consultation or support to clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
• Experience of working collaboratively with other professionals and external agencies.
• Experience within Autism, ADHD, neurodevelopmental and/or mental health assessment services.
• Strong clinical judgement, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide clear and proportionate advice in potentially complex or time-sensitive situations.
• The ability to participate in the out-of-hours duty rota, providing clinical risk and safeguarding support during evenings and weekends.

Desirable

• Experience of Child & Young People (CYP) risk assessment and safeguarding, or experience of working across adult and CYP/all-age services, would be particularly valuable. However, you do not need to be a CYP safeguarding specialist. We welcome applications from clinicians with strong Adult expertise who are interested in developing their CYP risk and safeguarding knowledge and skills, with appropriate support from colleagues within the team.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside other experienced Risk & Safeguarding Leads, provide clinical leadership to the wider team, contribute to the development of safeguarding practice across Psicon and build your expertise across both Adult and CYP pathways. Working pattern: 37.5 Hours Mon-Fri 9-5 core hours (30 min lunch). Evening and weekend duty rota. Hybrid approach with 2 days from home / 3 days office in Canterbury.
