RISR Implementation Manager
Contract: 6–9 months
Start Date: Week commencing 28 September
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced RISR Implementation Manager to support the implementation of a new RISR system within a higher education environment.
Following a recent tender process, the organisation has selected RISR as its new system, replacing its existing Moodle platform. The implementation is planned to commence in October, ahead of the upcoming examination period.
This is an advisory and hands-on implementation role, requiring someone with strong, practical knowledge of RISR who can act as a subject matter expert, advise the team on the best approach and help shape key implementation decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and advise on the implementation of the RISR platform, working closely with internal stakeholders and the RISR team
- Act as the organisation's RISR subject matter expert, providing guidance and recommendations throughout the implementation
- Review the proposed solution and challenge RISR where necessary to ensure the system meets organisational requirements
- Identify potential issues, risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate solutions
- Provide technical and functional input into implementation decisions
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate these into practical system solutions
- Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implementation processes
- Clearly communicate implementation requirements, decisions and progress to senior stakeholders, including the Registrar
- Support testing, configuration, implementation and the transition into the new system
- Work collaboratively with the wider project team and RISR representatives to ensure a successful implementation
- Provide ongoing advice and support throughout the implementation lifecycle

About You
We are looking for someone who has strong hands-on experience with RISR implementations and understands the platform in depth.
You will ideally have:
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience of RISR
- Previous experience implementing or supporting the implementation of RISR within a university or higher education environment
- A combination of technical/development experience and strong stakeholder advisory skills
- The ability to understand technical issues and translate them into clear business recommendations
- Experience challenging vendors and questioning proposed solutions where appropriate
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience developing SOPs, processes and supporting documentation
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- The confidence to advise senior stakeholders and support decision-making
- Experience working within a complex higher education environment would be highly desirable
