Overview

Join the surgical team at Beebe Healthcare, where your skills and experience as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) will make a lasting impact. We are currently seeking a full-time RNFA to support our perioperative services in delivering safe, efficient, and expert surgical care to patients across Sussex County.

As a clinically competent, registered professional nurse, the RNFA demonstrates advanced proficiency in perioperative nursing and intraoperative first assisting. This position plays an integral role in the surgical team by collaborating with surgeons and operating room staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The RNFA uses the full scope of the nursing process – assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation – to deliver comprehensive surgical care and support throughout the perioperative continuum.

Responsibilities

First Assisting Responsibilities

  • Initiate appropriate intraoperative behaviors unique to first assisting: provide hemostasis to reduce potential for fluid volume deficit by clamping and/or legating vessels using ESU, direct pressure, applying chemical agents that promote coagulation and other means as directed by the surgeon.
  • Provide exposure of the operative site through appropriate use of retractors, other instruments, and through suctioning and sponging.
  • Use surgical instruments skillfully in ways consistent with their design and purpose as directed by the surgeon.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
