We're currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Road Surfacing Operative to join our Contracting team based at Dolyhir, located in Presteigne close to Hereford in Herefordshire, covering projects across Mid Wales.
This role is easily accessible from Hay on Wye, Ludlow, Leominster, Llandrindod Wells, Newtown and the surrounding areas.

What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Gang Team Leader, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality road surfacing projects across highways, airfields and local road networks.
As a Multi Skilled Road Surfacing Operative, you'll:
- Operate a range of plant and equipment associated with road surfacing, including pavers, rollers, tractors and chippers
- Work with hot coated materials safely and efficiently
- Lay coated materials to specification and within required tolerances
- Carry out routine plant maintenance and maintain excellent housekeeping standards
- Champion a culture of Zero Harm, behavioural safety and continuous improvement
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance on site
- Work collaboratively as part of a high-performing surfacing team

What we're looking for
We're seeking an experienced road surfacing professional who is motivated, safety-focused and enjoys working as part of a team.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within the road surfacing industry
- Experience working on highways, A roads, motorways and/or airfield projects
- Experience laying asphalt and coated materials
- Plant operating experience with relevant tickets and qualifications
- A CSCS card (preferred)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A flexible approach to working hours and project requirements
- The ability to work independently when required
- A full UK driving licence
- A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
