Salary: £41,556.10

Hours: 37 hours per week, 5 over 7

Applications are invited for the post of Roadside Controllers to work in the Manchester and Merseyside Operating Area, based at St Helens Depot.

With over 2000 colleagues spread across six sites, Stagecoach Manchester and Merseyside is one of the country’s biggest bus operators. We are recruiting Roadside Controllers to join the team, to help us as we expand our business due to the successful award of Liverpool City Region Combined Authority contracts based in St Helens depots.

This is a permanent position that will work under the Operations / Service Delivery Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the operation and performance of all routes within a defined geographical area including the supervision of drivers and other staff in the performance of their duties and to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective operation of Stagecoach bus services.
  • Acting as a representative of the Company, dealing with the public and relevant statutory authorities and to assist as a contact and communications link with OCC and SCC, Transport Officers, and other stakeholders.

Duties:

  • Measure and report on-road performance, identifying causes of poor performance.
  • Represent the company at external meetings as appropriate.
  • Foster and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure the highest standards of operational discipline and customer service are maintained by drivers.
  • Ensure that incidents and accidents are managed and reported and provide guidance and assistance at the scene.
  • Support the Performance Analyst and Operations teams with any reasonable administration tasks.
