Job Description

Roadside Technician Superflex role (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime, and bonus opportunities.

About the Role

In a Roadside Technician Patrol - Superflex role, you'll be part of the most agile and responsive unit ready to support drivers when they need it most. This role is designed for those who can offer extra flexibility around changing schedules, less sociable hours, and shorter notice periods. The basic salary is substantially higher than a standard Patrol Technician to compensate for the flexibility needed for this role.

Must have the right to work in the UK status.

Location: Richmond
Pay / salary: £55,869 basic (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance) | OTE: Up to £61,000
Job type: Permanent / Full-time role

Shift and Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, averaged over the year
  • Your roster will be issued seven days in advance, with your core working hours confirmed three days prior
  • Working hours range from 6:00 am to 2:00 am and can include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • All hours start and finish from home, with work organized locally across Richmond, Barnes, Mortlake, Putney, Roehampton, and Wandsworth

Job Responsibilities

  • Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor repairs
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and determine appropriate repair options
  • Provide temporary solutions where a full roadside repair is not possible
  • Advise members clearly on repairs, recovery, and the appropriate next steps
  • Maintain your company van, tools, and equipment while completing reports accurately
  • Work safely and efficiently across varied roadside environments and conditions

Requirements

  • Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent with at least 2 years' relevant experience; or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
  • Strong hands-on mechanical, diagnostic, and fault-finding ability
  • A customer-focused approach with the confidence to work independently
  • Flexibility to work changing shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Must have a Full UK Driving Licence with fewer than 6 points
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
