Roadspace Planning & Assurance Coordinator
Location: Hatfield or Dartford (Hybrid Working Available)
Help Keep the UK's Busiest Roads Moving
At Octavius Infrastructure, we're delivering some of the UK's most important highways projects, and we need someone who enjoys bringing people together, solving problems, and planning ahead to join our team as a Roadspace Planning & Assurance Coordinator.
If you're organised, proactive, and love the challenge of coordinating multiple moving parts, this could be the perfect opportunity. You'll play a key role in ensuring works are planned safely and efficiently across the road network, helping our project teams secure the roadspace they need while minimising disruption for road users.
Working closely with project teams, National Highways, Transport for London, local authorities, traffic management providers, and our wider framework partners, you'll be at the centre of keeping our projects moving.
What you'll be doing
No two days are quite the same, but you can expect to:
- Plan and coordinate roadspace requirements for a variety of highways projects.
- Work closely with project teams to understand upcoming works and secure the necessary roadspace bookings.
- Attend planning, integration and coordination meetings with clients and project teams.
- Liaise with National Highways, TfL, local authorities, emergency services and framework partners to ensure works are delivered collaboratively.
- Manage bookings across multiple roadspace systems, including National Highways booking platforms, AERA and LondonWorks.
- Prepare and submit roadspace applications, departures, TTROs and ETROs.
- Keep daily reports and programme records accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate traffic management requirements with suppliers and designers.
- Identify potential clashes, risks and constraints before they become issues.
- Support continuous improvement by sharing best practice and helping shape roadspace processes across the business.
- Build strong relationships that support a joined-up approach to network occupancy and traffic management.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
