Cairngorm Coffee is a Scottish coffee roastery focused on high-quality specialty coffee. The company operates two specialty coffee shops and a general store in the Highlands, creating a direct connection between roasting and customer experience. Cairngorm Coffee also supplies wholesale coffee to businesses across the UK, supporting a wide network of partners. Team members work closely with the roasting and retail operations to deliver consistent quality and service. The environment is hands-on, collaborative, and centered around excellence in coffee.
Role Description
The Roastery Production Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Edinburgh, supporting daily operations at the roastery. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with coffee roasting preparation
- Weighing and batching
- Bagging, labeling, and packing orders for retail and wholesale customers
- Monitoring stock levels
- Organizing inventory
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace

The role involves performing basic quality checks on roasted coffee, helping prepare orders for dispatch, and supporting the roastery team with general production tasks. There may be occasional interaction with customers or visiting clients, representing the brand and providing friendly, informed service.
Qualifications
- Strong Production Assistance skills, including handling materials, preparing batches, and supporting daily roastery workflows.
- Quality Control skills, such as attention to detail, consistency checks, and basic understanding of product standards.
- Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and represent the brand professionally when interacting with customers or partners.
- Teamwork skills, including reliable collaboration with roasters and colleagues, and willingness to support shared goals.
- Basic organizational and time management skills, with the ability to follow processes and work safely in a production environment.

Experience in coffee, food production, or a similar setting is beneficial, as is familiarity with manual handling and warehouse procedures. A positive attitude, readiness to learn, and ability to perform physical tasks on their feet for extended periods are important.
