Robotics Software Engineer
We’re looking for a talented Robotics Software Engineer to join an innovative engineering team developing software for next-generation robotic vehicles.
You’ll work across robotics, control systems, and software development, developing and testing control and guidance systems, integrating sensors and actuators, and supporting the development and validation of robotic platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and test control loops for ground and airborne vehicles using C++ and Python.
- Integrate sensors and actuators using a range of communication protocols.
- Support prototyping, simulation, and validation of control and guidance systems.
- Develop robust, high-quality software for real-world robotic applications.
- Work closely with engineers across software, controls, and robotics to deliver projects to agreed timescales.

About You
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional software engineering experience, ideally working with robotic systems.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Experience with ArduPilot, MAVSDK, and/or PX4.
- Experience with Model Predictive Control (MPC) or similar control techniques.
- A strong track record of delivering high-quality robotics software within deadlines.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in any of the following would be highly beneficial:
- Path planning, motion control, or reinforcement learning-based control.
- Simulation tools such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Robotics frameworks and interfaces including ROS/ROS2, Serial, UART, and I2C.
- Sensor integration and fusion, including Kalman filters.
- Real-time embedded systems.
- Pybind11.

What We’re Looking For
We’re particularly interested in engineers who can demonstrate impressive hands-on robotics projects, strong software engineering practices, and excellent C++ coding ability. You’ll need to be technically capable, practical, and able to take ownership of your work while delivering to challenging timescales.
