We are looking for a Laboratory Chemist to carry out laboratory project work to support sales of our product ranges. The chemist plans, undertakes, and reports laboratory evaluations ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and legislation.
The role is based in our in-house laboratory which provides the necessary QC, R&D, as well as technical support required for our current and future product range. There are three grades of chemist which can be progressed through via training, development, and worked experience. There will be the occasional requirement to travel to offshore installations as required.
Your Core Responsibilities and Tasks
- Work safely and effectively in a laboratory environment, adhering to COSHH and risk assessments.
- Undertakes General Laboratory Projects to overcome customers’ technical challenges. When necessary, carries out product development to provide sustainable solutions that contribute to future sales.
- Performs quality control (QC) testing on raw materials and formulated products. Assists the manufacturing team with technical and product enquiries.
- Undertakes projects for the Drilling & Completions product line, applying the skills used in general laboratory projects alongside more in-depth testing and product development specific to these products

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a laboratory role, ideally with knowledge of drilling and completion fluid formulating (testing and field applications are a distinct advantage).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to actively engage in resolving and promoting solutions to meet the requirements of our customers.
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to the operational needs of the laboratory team through providing assistance to other lab departments as required.
- Offshore experience would be an advantage but not essential.
