Company Description
Heart Of Central England Women's Business Board is a pioneering group founded by women from across the East Midlands to support life-saving and life-changing research for the British Heart Foundation. Board members use their business experience, networks, and personal stories to raise funds and awareness for cardiovascular research that helps families have more time together. The Board aims to create a national movement, encouraging more women across the UK to contribute their skills and time to this cause. Activities focus on building visibility, driving engagement, and organizing fundraising initiatives. The Board plans and hosts engagement and fundraising events within the East Midlands while seeking to expand its impact across the UK.
Role Description
The Volunteer Board Member (Advisory & Strategic Fundraising) will contribute to the Board’s mission by providing advisory input on fundraising strategy, supporting financial oversight of initiatives, and helping shape marketing and engagement plans. This full-time, on-site role is based in the Greater Lincoln Area, United Kingdom, and involves regular attendance at Board meetings, events, and planning sessions. - Contributing to fundraising concepts and campaigns
- Reviewing and interpreting financial and analytical reports
- Conducting or guiding research to identify new funding opportunities and partnerships
- Collaborating with other members to design and deliver events
- Supporting stakeholder and donor engagement
- Representing the Board at local and regional activities

The Board Member will build relationships with community partners, amplify the Board’s mission, and provide strategic insight to ensure sustainable impact.
Qualifications
- Strong Finance and Analytical Skills to support budgeting, financial planning, and evaluation of fundraising performance.
- Experience with Research and Fundraising to identify prospects, develop funding strategies, and cultivate donor relationships.
- Knowledge of Marketing and related engagement tactics to promote events, campaigns, and the Board’s mission effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively at Board or leadership level, with sound judgment and strategic thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated commitment to charitable causes, community impact, or nonprofit governance; prior board or advisory experience is an advantage.
- Capacity to commit full-time availability for meetings, events, and ongoing Board responsibilities in the Greater Lincoln Area.
- Relevant professional background in business, finance, marketing, fundraising, or nonprofit management is highly beneficial.
