Role Description
The Roofer role at Power Volt Energy is a contract, on-site position based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs to support solar panel systems, including:

- Preparing roof surfaces
- Fitting structural elements
- Ensuring proper waterproofing and insulation
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Working at height with appropriate safety equipment
- Inspecting existing roofs
- Identifying and resolving defects
- Coordinating with solar installation teams to ensure secure mounting and long-term durability
The roofer will also be responsible for:
- Following health and safety regulations
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Communicating progress and issues to supervisors and project managers
The position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications

- Strong roofing skills, including experience with various roof types and structures.
- Proficiency in working at height with proper safety practices and equipment.
- Experience in carpentry and structural work related to roof construction and reinforcement.
- Knowledge of waterproofing techniques to ensure weatherproof and durable installations.
- Experience with insulation installation and energy-efficient roofing solutions.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, plans, and installation guidelines.
- Good physical fitness and stamina appropriate for manual, outdoor work.
- Relevant trade certifications or qualifications in roofing or construction are preferred.
- Previous experience in solar or renewable energy projects is an advantage.
- Reliable transportation to the Newcastle Upon Tyne job site and flexibility to work varying schedules.
