Roofers Mate at The NSS Group

£13.50 - £14.50 per hour dependant on experience.

The Role
As a Roofers Mate, you’ll work alongside experienced roofers on reactive and planned maintenance works across commercial, retail, and industrial sites.
This is a hands-on role with genuine development opportunities ideal if you’re looking to build a long-term career in roofing and working at height.
You’ll be supporting roofing works, learning on the job, and helping to deliver safe, high-quality repairs every day.

Responsibilities of the role:
- Working as part of a team on reactive and planned roofing maintenance
- Assisting with cladding, commercial, traditional, and industrial roofing works
- Supporting guttering repairs and replacements
- Working safely at height on a daily basis
- Completing on-site risk assessments and job reports using mobile devices
- Delivering a professional, customer-focused service
- Being flexible with start times, travel, and occasional weekend work
- Participating in an on-call rota where required
- Continuously learning new skills and methods on site

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Full UK driving licence
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in your work
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work at height and learn a skilled trade
Desirable (but not essential):
- CSCS (Labourer or Skilled Worker)
- IPAF (1b, 3a, eB)
- PASMA
- First Aid
- NVQ in Roofing / Slating & Tiling / Sheeting & Cladding
- Experience identifying and repairing roofing leaks
