Roofing Estimator at NSS Maintenance
Part of NSS Group
£30,000 - £35,000 per annum dependant on experience.
Location – Altrincham

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Roofing Estimator to join our NSS Maintenance team.
You will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive quotations for roofing and maintenance works, ranging from smaller reactive opportunities through to larger projects and tenders valued at approximately £30,000 to £500,000.
You’ll work closely with our Operations, Contracts, Sales, Surveying and Engineering teams to ensure opportunities are accurately priced and progressed within agreed timescales.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage multiple quotations and tenders, ensuring they are completed accurately and within agreed SLAs.
- Produce clear estimates covering labour, materials, equipment and project timescales.
- Work closely with Operations, Contracts, Sales, Surveyors and Engineers to gather information and support projects from quotation through to delivery.
- Carry out site surveys when required to ensure larger or more complex opportunities are accurately priced.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors, including identifying new supply-chain opportunities.
- Follow up on submitted quotations, monitor opportunities and use commercial judgement to help improve conversion rates.
- Support continuous improvement across estimating processes while ensuring health & safety and commercial requirements are considered in all quotations.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in roofing estimating, building maintenance or a similar technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of general roofing disciplines, ideally including specialist coatings and dilapidation works.
- Experience preparing quotations for small to large-scale projects and tenders, with a good understanding of labour, materials, access and equipment costs.
- Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills, with the ability to work with schedules of rates and produce competitive quotations.
- Confident managing multiple quotations and deadlines while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
