Our Dicky Birds Nursery and Preschool on Pelham Road in Wimbledon is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Room Leader to join our dedicated team. You will take the lead in your room, supporting your team and creating a safe, stimulating and engaging environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.

Our nursery offers a warm, home-from-home environment with a fantastic outdoor space, including an outdoor reading area, large sandpit and creative areas for painting, construction and messy play.
We also offer Forest School sessions and PE, alongside regular community outings including visits to Wimbledon Common, local libraries and farms.
Location and Travel
Dicky Birds Pelham Road is situated on a quiet residential street, a short walk from Wimbledon High Street and Wimbledon Station, with excellent public transport links and nearby bus routes.

- Lead and support the day-to-day running of your room
- Provide guidance, support and leadership to your team
- Ensure the children receive high-quality care, learning and development opportunities
- Plan and deliver engaging activities based on the children's interests and individual needs
- Act as a positive role model for your team
- Support colleagues with their professional development
- Build strong and positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Take responsibility for ensuring the room meets EYFS requirements
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and safeguarding
- Support observations, assessments and planning
- Work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider management team
- Ensure children are happy, settled and making good progress
What We’re Looking For
- A recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Previous experience working in an early years setting
- Experience of leading or supporting a team would be beneficial
- A good understanding of the EYFS
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A caring, enthusiastic and positive approach
- The ability to build strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- A genuine passion for helping children learn and develop
