Room Leader – Early Years Professional

Location: Warrington (at a nursery partnered with David Lloyd Leeds gym) Salary: £28,392.00 per annum Contract: Full-time (40 hours, 5 days/week) Benefits:

About the Role

As our Room Leader, you’ll oversee a team of Early Years professionals to deliver exceptional childcare and education, ensuring every child–including your own–thrives and hits key milestones. You’ll facilitate engaging, inclusive learning experiences, uphold safeguarding, health and safety standards, and build strong partnerships with families and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team delivering Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)-compliant care for a designated age group.
  • Foster a positive, nurturing environment where children’s learning and social development are front and centre.
  • Ensure full compliance with legislation—including safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection policies.
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and external agencies to meet child-specific needs.
  • Maintain early learning records, reporting progress and tailoring support as necessary.
  • Participate in professional development, continuous training, and team meetings.

Requirements & Qualifications

✅ Essential:

  • Full and valid Early Years qualifications at Level 3 or higher (NQ Ts, Early Years Educator, similar*).
  • Proven experience (minimum 1+ years) in a nursery setting, ideally as a Room Leader or equivalent role.
  • Passion for inclusive, active learning for ages 0-5.
  • Deep understanding of EYFS framework, safeguarding, and best practices in child welfare.
  • Strong communication skills—ability to build trust with staff, parents, and children.
  • Self-motivation, team player attitude, and adaptability.
