About VD Recruitment
VD Recruitment is recruiting experienced and passionate ROOM LEADERS for our client - A growing and loving Bilingual French Nursery in London.
We are looking for a Room Leader for one of their beautiful settings in Hammersmith. You will be joining a lovely nursery with Good Ofsted rating on a full-time permanent basis.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for children.
- Collaboratively work with colleagues, parents, carers, and other multi-professionals.
- Committed to safeguarding and creating an inclusive environment.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of Level 3 qualification in Childcare or above.
- At least two years post-qualifying experience, preferably with at least one year in a senior position.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS.
- Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Salary Offered
- GBP28,000pa to GBP32,000pa.

- Full Time, 40hrs/week
Duties of the Room Leader
- Provide high-quality care and activities for the children and recognize both individual and group requirements in a secure, safe, and stimulating environment.
- Ensure you are familiar with the key policies and procedures, especially safeguarding children, equal opportunities, behavior management, and health and safety.
- Ensure parent issues and concerns are dealt with promptly and accurately. Ensure management is informed and consulted where relevant.
- Participate in room and staff meetings.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of the work as may reasonably be required by the Nursery.
- Support coordinators such as SENCO, Equal Opportunities in their roles.
- Attend training and development courses as directed by your Manager or Assessor.
- Promote at all times good relations between staff members, parents, and children, and promote the quality ethos of the nursery.
- Carry out health and safety checks as required to ensure the room/nursery is tidy, safe, clean, and secure for children, staff, parents/carers, and visitors.
- Participate in free-flow systems. This aids children's development in self-assurance, independence, making choices, and self-selecting.
- Ensure child profiles in your rooms are up to date and relevant.
- Ensure children have adequate access to the garden and outside trips.

Experience, Qualification & Skills Required

- Childcare qualified to Level 3 or above from a recognized awarding scheme (CWDC Diploma, NNEB, BTEC, NVQ, CACHE).
- You may have experience of the following: Room Leader, Acting Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and an ability to write reports as directed by the manager.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS.
