Nursery – Bright Horizons Surbiton Ewell Road Day Nursery and Preschool

Location: Surbiton Salary: Starting from £32,864 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) This is a fixed-term role for maternity cover.


About the Role

We’re looking for a Room Leader with a Level 3 in Early Years to join our Bright Horizons Surbiton Ewell Road Day Nursery and Preschool. If you’re passionate about early education, supporting children’s development, and working in a supportive, inclusive environment, this could be the role for you.


The Role

As a Room Leader, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team to deliver exceptional care and education, ensuring all children in your room reach their individual milestones.
  • Promoting child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding, with a strong focus on legislation and best practice.
  • Building strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to meet each child’s unique needs.
  • Creating fun, inclusive, and stimulating learning environments for children.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in Early Years settings, ideally as a:
    • Room Leader,
    • Nursery Nurse,
    • Nursery Practitioner, or
    • Early Years Educator.
  • A passion for creating engaging, inclusive environments.
  • A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Clear knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and legislative requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills (effective with both children and adults).
  • Ability to build trust and partnerships with colleagues and parents.
