Location: Bermondsey, London (SE16)

Salary: £24,050 – £29,120 per annum (dependent on role)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for passionate childcare professionals to join a dedicated team in Bermondsey. We are currently seeking a dynamic Room Leader and an experienced Senior Nursery Practitioner to help provide high-quality care and education.

Option 1: Room Leader

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 6:30pm (40 hours per week)

Salary: £29,120 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supporting the room team to provide high-quality care and education.
  • Overseeing the planning and delivery of daily activities in line with the nursery’s curriculum and the EYFS framework.
  • Acting as a Key Person, maintaining accurate learning and development records.
  • Ensuring the environment is safe, welcoming, and meets all health and safety requirements.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
  • At least 1 year of experience leading a room or team in a nursery or early years setting in the UK.

Option 2: Senior Nursery Practitioner

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:45am – 3:00pm, Friday 7:45am – 3:30pm (34 hours per week)

Salary: £24,050 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Room Leader in leading the nursery team to provide outstanding care and education in line with the EYFS.
  • Planning and delivering activities that support children’s learning and development.
  • Acting as a Key Person and confidence in supporting and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ensuring the environment remains safe, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children aged 2–5 in a nursery setting in the UK.

Core Skills & Attributes Required For Both Roles:

  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to use your own initiative.
  • Excellent understanding of the EYFS and experience in planning and monitoring children’s learning and development.
  • A positive, team-focused attitude with a genuine love for working with children.
  • Must have the valid Right to Work in the UK (visas cannot be sponsored for these positions).
