Experienced Time Served Pipefitter with Rope Access and TMJI Bolting Certificates
Job Summary
Responsible for Piping Installation, Maintenance, Repair & TMJI Bolting Activities, including Rope Access required.
Key Duties
- Read and interpret piping specifications, drawings, and isometric diagrams
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, and assemble pipe sections according to specifications
- Install and connect pipework, fittings, valves, and supports securely
- Use TMJI bolting methods to assemble and maintain bolted connections to recognized industry standards
- Perform rope access work to reach piping systems in elevated, restricted, or awkward locations
- Inspect installed pipework for leaks, weaknesses, or faults and carry out repairs as required
- Test piping systems for functionality and integrity by following safety and quality procedures
- Work according to permit-to-work procedures and comply with all safety requirements on-site
- Complete all required job documentation, including maintenance reports and safety records
- Maintain cleanliness and order of working area and tools
- Communicate progress and potential issues to site supervisors in a timely manner
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks

Required Qualifications
- Recognized time-served apprenticeship in pipefitting or equivalent qualification
- Valid TMJI bolting certificates
- Certified rope access qualification (such as IRATA or equivalent)
- Solid knowledge of pipefitting techniques, practices, and materials
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in offshore or heavy industrial environments
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces using rope access
- Proficiency in reading and following technical drawings and piping schematics
- Good problem-solving skills and manual dexterity
- Physical fitness to carry out manual handling and rope access tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Clear communication skills

Desirable Skills
- Current or previous platform safety or competency certifications
- Previous experience working on offshore platforms or similar installations
Work Environment
This role may require working at height, outdoors in variable weather conditions, in confined spaces, and during extended shifts. The pipefitter adheres at all times to safety and operational procedures specific to platform environments.
