Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Rope Access Technician/Skilled Civils role located in Glasgow. The role involves carrying out rope access operations for tasks such as inspection, maintenance, and window cleaning at height on commercial and industrial structures. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and checking rope access systems, working safely at height, performing external cleaning or minor civils works, and completing inspections as required. The technician will follow health and safety procedures, complete work reports, and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification. The role may involve working in varying weather conditions and requires a strong focus on safe working practices and teamwork.

  • Strong competence in Working at Height / Work at Height, with a clear understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Practical experience in Rope Access techniques, ideally supported by industry-recognized certification (e.g., IRATA or equivalent).
  • Skills in Window Cleaning at height, including safe use of equipment and attention to detail in external surface cleaning.
  • Experience carrying out Inspection tasks on structures or building elements, with the ability to document findings accurately.
  • Previous civils or construction experience, particularly in external building maintenance or repair, is beneficial.
  • Relevant safety training or certifications (e.g., working at height, first aid) are an advantage.
  • Ability to follow method statements and risk assessments, with strong awareness of site safety and compliance.
  • Good physical fitness, reliability, and the ability to work in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
