Rotational Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the well established and dynamic Occupational Therapy Team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Rotational Occupational Therapist.

Rotations

Rotations can include, but are not limited to:

• Community Therapy
• Intermediate Care
• Paediatrics
• Learning Disabilities
• Orthopaedics
• Acute therapies

Some rotations are Monday to Sunday and some rotations will require access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance.

Responsibilities

On each rotation the post holder will be supported by passionate and experienced team members who will help guide and support your individual learning needs and ensure that the best standards of care are provided.

• Provide a high standard occupational therapy services to patients within the rotation.
• Act as a source of knowledge on the management of current caseloads and provide an advisory service to patients, relatives, other healthcare professionals and students.
• Take a role in the assessment and treatment of patients within the rotation, to provide occupational therapy treatment indicated and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
• Hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working with direct supervision.
• Assist teams in planning, co-ordination, delivering and evaluating the therapy services provided within the rotation.
• Participate in the education and training of occupational therapists, other health professionals and OT students in the management of OT conditions as appropriate in the respective rotation.
