Band 5 Occupational Therapist

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Therapy Team at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, part of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT). This is an excellent time to join the organisation, with significant investment in therapy services and the continued development of our Front Door pathways.

The successful candidate will join our rotational Band 5 programme, gaining broad clinical experience across both acute and community settings. Rotations last approximately six months and include specialties such as Medicine, Care of the Older Person, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Respiratory, Community/Outreach, Outpatients, and Front Door.

You will be part of a supportive 7-day therapy service, developing core Occupational Therapy skills and clinical confidence across diverse environments. ULHT delivers an integrated Therapy Service with a strong focus on rehabilitation, early intervention, and the prevention of deconditioning. We are committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care across the Emergency Department, inpatient wards, outpatient services, and community pathways.

Throughout your rotations, you will be fully supported by a large, experienced, and collaborative therapy team who are committed to your professional growth and development.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our well-established team of over 60 Integrated Therapy staff. You will provide high standard Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions within an integrated therapy team. These rotational positions offer an important opportunity and challenging career move for you to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge. As a department we are committed to excellence and provide regular staff supervision and appraisal. The department also supports occupational therapy students.

Our team is highly focused on supporting your development and we work hard to ensure you will receive 1:1 supervision, regular training/peer reviews and access to advice and support.

All Occupational Therapists benefit from protected CPD time, as well as the opportunity to attend locally organised courses run by nationally accredited tutors.

The post-holder will be based at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, with an expectation to travel to and work at least one additional site—most likely Lincoln County Hospital.

Pilgrim Hospital is situated in beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence of significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.

This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
