The NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service serves a population of approximately 380,000 people and is provided by an integrated team of around 200 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Staff, Nurses, and Administrators. The team works across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams.
Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.

Role Overview
To support delivery of our medicines supply service, we are looking for support staff to work in our Pharmacy Stores. No pharmacy experience is necessary as full training will be provided. If you are flexible, hard-working and love working in a team then you are our ideal candidate.
Working in the Pharmacy Stores, you will assist with the assembly of medicine orders, over-labeling of medicines, receipt of goods from suppliers, maintenance of stores stock, preparation of ward orders, ward top-up, answering the telephone, computer work and reception duties. We do need you to be physically able to lift and handle medicines including infusion boxes and you may spend most of the day on your feet.
You will be based at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy but will be required to work at both Queen Margaret and Victoria Hospital Pharmacy Departments.

To meet the needs of the service, you will work variable shifts between 08:00-18:00 Monday to Friday and participate in a weekend and public holiday rota.
Important Information
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part-time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
