Rotational Pharmacy Technician – Band 4/5

Are you a forward-thinking pharmacy technician seeking the challenge of an expanding and developing role, delivering a high quality, effective and efficient patient-centered service? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Within NHS Tayside hospital services we have a proud history of developing roles for pharmacy technicians and an organisational structure that promotes pharmacy technician professional leadership. As a rotational pharmacy technician you will gain experience in dispensary, stores/distribution, clinical areas providing near patient service, the aseptic dispensing unit and homecare.

To be considered for this post you must be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or a pre-registration trainee pharmacy technician due to qualify and register with the GPhC in 2026. Applicants must be willing to train to undertake the final accuracy check of dispensed medicines or already have a recognised accuracy checking qualification.

Successful candidates will undertake a Band 4 Pharmacy Technician career progression programme to support their professional development. On successful completion of the programme and an interview/ assessment the candidate will advance to Band 5.

Hours of work are 36 over a 7-day working week, applications from those wishing to work part-time will be considered.
