ROV Tooling Technician

Ashtead Technology have an exciting opportunity for an ROV Tooling Technician to join our busy team in Kintore - we are seeking a hands-on problem solver with a passion for technical problem-solving and offshore technology.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Inspecting, maintaining, testing, and repairing a wide range of ROV tooling and associated equipment.
  • Commissioning new tooling systems and supporting bespoke tooling builds from assembly through to testing.
  • Preparing tooling packages for offshore mobilisation, ensuring all equipment is certified, operational, and deployment-ready.
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic systems.
  • Supporting mobilisations, site interface testing, and commissioning activities when required.
  • Managing equipment records, work orders, and inventory to maintain operational readiness and traceability.

What experience you'll bring:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience maintaining, inspecting, testing, and repairing ROV tooling equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of ROV tooling systems, including torque tools, valve packs, cutters, LAOTs, and IHPUs.
  • Sound understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose faults and interpret schematics.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with electrical systems and fault-finding would be advantageous.
