Our client, a leader in the renewables sector, is currently seeking an ROV Tooling Technician to join their busy team in Kintore, Aberdeenshire. This permanent role offers a hands-on problem-solver the chance to work with cutting-edge offshore technology and make a significant impact in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting, maintaining, testing, and repairing a wide range of ROV tooling and associated equipment
  • Commissioning new tooling systems and supporting bespoke tooling builds from assembly through to testing
  • Preparing tooling packages for offshore mobilisation, ensuring all equipment is certified, operational, and deployment-ready
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electro-hydraulic systems
  • Supporting mobilisations, site interface testing, and commissioning activities when required
  • Managing equipment records, work orders, and inventory to maintain operational readiness and traceability

Job Requirements:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven experience maintaining, inspecting, testing, and repairing ROV tooling equipment
  • Strong knowledge of ROV tooling systems, including torque tools, valve packs, cutters, LAOTs, and IHPUs
  • Sound understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose faults and interpret schematics
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, detail-focused approach
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with electrical systems and fault-finding would be advantageous
