Royalty and Production Accountant
We’re looking for a Royalty and Production Accountant to join an integral part of the Allotment core, helping to keep us running at full steam.
About You:
- Detail-oriented professional skilled in balancing extensive transactional datasets throughout diverse corporate structures.
- Thrives under strict operational timelines tied to event schedules, effectively juggling responsibilities across online stores, production finances, and intercompany recharges.
- Demonstrates exceptional client communication alongside a focus on precise financial record-keeping.
Job Role:
- Post AP fixed asset and Stripe/PayPal transactions for the UK entity.
- Process store clearing-down transactions on accounts receivable.
- Post store-related and management fee transactions for entities.
- Record income from royalty.
- Perform accruals/prepayments as needed for month and year-end.
- Complete IOSS submissions where applicable.
- Calculate artist, licensing, and profit-participation royalties in line with contract terms, and prepare accurate royalty/settlement statements.
- Review artist and licensing agreements to confirm royalty rates, commission terms, and reporting requirements are applied correctly.
- Act as first point of contact for royalty and settlement queries from artists, managers, agents, and rights holders, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manages all royalty accounting for the company and production-related costs and revenue, ensuring nominal ledgers and accruals are accurate and reconciled.
- Reconcile royalty calculations against store, retail, and touring income to ensure amounts paid out match underlying revenue.

Expectations:
- Royalty accounting experience.
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant.
- Retail or production accounting experience an advantage.
- Experience preparing royalty, commission, or artist settlement statements an advantage.
- Comfortable interpreting artist and licensing contracts to apply correct royalty terms.
- Strong Excel and Xero skills.
- Familiarity with royalty or stock management systems (e.g., Counterpoint/Record Maestro, Curve) an advantage.
- Strong customer service or client management skills.
