RPG/AS400 & JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Developer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an RPG/AS400 & JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Developer based in the United Kingdom.
This remote role is ideal for a technically skilled developer with strong expertise across IBM AS400/iSeries environments and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne platforms. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications while ensuring system reliability and performance. The position requires hands-on experience with RPG/RPGLE development, JD Edwards customizations, integrations, and production support. You will collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver solutions that improve operational efficiency and support critical business processes. This opportunity offers the chance to work on complex enterprise systems, solve challenging technical issues, and contribute to long-term technology improvements within a distributed environment.
Accountabilities:
As an RPG/AS400 & JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Developer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing enterprise applications while supporting business-critical systems. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing, modifying, debugging, and maintaining RPG, RPGLE, and CL programs on IBM AS400/iSeries platforms.
- Troubleshooting technical issues, resolving production incidents, and improving system performance and reliability.
- Developing, customizing, and supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne solutions across areas such as Financials, Inventory, Distribution, Procurement, and Manufacturing.
- Creating and maintaining JD Edwards components, including Business Functions, UBEs (Batch Reports), Named Event Rules (NERs), Table Conversions, and Business Views.
- Using Object Management Workbench (OMW) to manage development objects, version control processes, and application lifecycle activities.
- Designing and maintaining SQL queries, stored procedures, and data processes using DB2 databases.
- Implementing integrations between JD Edwards and external applications through APIs, EDI, flat files, and other data exchange methods.
- Supporting JD Edwards upgrades, ESU installations, patch deployments, and system enhancement initiatives.
- Providing technical support to internal users while collaborating with functional teams, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
- Creating technical documentation, development specifications, and support procedures while following coding standards and best practices.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced enterprise application developer with strong technical knowledge of IBM AS400/iSeries and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environments. You should bring:
- At least 3 years of professional experience developing solutions on IBM AS400/iSeries platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with RPG, RPGLE, CL, and AS400/iSeries technologies.
- Practical experience developing, supporting, or customizing JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications.
- Strong knowledge of JD Edwards development tools, including Object Management Workbench (OMW), Business View Design, UBE Design, Business Functions, Named Event Rules (NERs), and Table Conversions.
- Experience working with SQL and DB2 databases.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues and support live enterprise systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into effective business solutions.
- Ability to collaborate with technical teams, business users, and international stakeholders.
- English proficiency at a minimum B2 level, with the ability to participate in meetings, understand technical documentation, and communicate effectively.
