JOB PURPOSE

We are hiring an RTR Accountant to join Burberry Business Services in Leeds and support the delivery of accurate, timely financial reporting. As part of the Record to Report team, you will take ownership of core accounting activities while helping to strengthen controls, improve processes and provide meaningful financial insight. This is an opportunity to develop your technical expertise within a collaborative, international finance environment and contribute to the considered way Burberry operates.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, payroll, provisions and reclassifications.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items accurately and promptly.
  • Support cash flow forecasting and reporting by analysing movements and clearly communicating key insights.
  • Prepare Record to Report information for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with Group policies and support the effective operation of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy, documentation and standardisation of finance processes.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Part-qualified accountant who is actively studying towards ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of month-end close activities and balance sheet accounting, with experience preparing reconciliations and supporting audits.
  • Confident using Excel for activities such as pivot tables, lookups and data analysis.
  • Detail-focused and organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver accurate work to agreed deadlines.
  • Clear and collaborative communicator who can explain financial movements and work effectively with stakeholders across Finance.
  • Curious and improvement-minded, with a willingness to learn, take ownership and strengthen processes; experience with SAP, BPC, IFRS, shared services, retail or FMCG would be beneficial but is not essential.
