SC-Cleared Rubrik Implementation Engineer
📍 Warrington or Gloucester (Hybrid - 2 days per week onsite)
💰 £350-£400 per day (Inside IR35)

We're seeking an experienced Rubrik Implementation Engineer to join a high-profile programme delivering enterprise backup, recovery, and cyber resilience solutions within a secure customer environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the implementation, migration, and support of Rubrik Backup and Recovery solutions across both on-premise and cloud infrastructures. Working alongside infrastructure, security, and application teams, you will ensure robust backup, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience capabilities are delivered to meet operational and security requirements.
The Role
As a Rubrik Implementation Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, migrating, and supporting Rubrik environments while ensuring backup and recovery services operate effectively and securely. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of implementation, from agent deployment and workload onboarding through to recovery testing, platform optimisation, and operational handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer Rubrik Backup and Recovery solutions.
- Deploy and configure Rubrik agents across physical and virtual server environments.
- Onboard Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, and database workloads into Rubrik.
- Create and manage backup policies, retention schedules, SLA domains, and recovery configurations.
- Migrate workloads from legacy backup platforms to Rubrik.
- Monitor backup operations, identify failures, and perform troubleshooting activities.
- Work closely with infrastructure, networking, and security teams to ensure successful platform integration.
- Configure reporting, monitoring, and alerting capabilities.
- Conduct backup validation, restore testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Produce implementation documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Liaise with Rubrik support and third-party vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Provide implementation updates to project stakeholders and governance teams.
- Ensure compliance with security, operational, and data protection policies.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
- Proven experience implementing and supporting Rubrik Backup and Recovery solutions.
- Strong expertise in Rubrik CDM (Cloud Data Management) administration.
- Experience installing and configuring Rubrik agents.
- Knowledge of Rubrik cluster upgrades and lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of enterprise backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and data protection principles.
- Experience supporting VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Windows Server, and Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience configuring backup policies, SLA domains, retention schedules, and recovery procedures.
- Experience migrating workloads from legacy backup platforms to Rubrik.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with backup reporting, monitoring, and operational support.
- Background working within enterprise infrastructure or managed services environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to create technical documentation, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
- Experience working within ITIL-based service management environments.

Desirable Skills
- Experience protecting workloads within Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 backup and recovery solutions.
- Experience with cyber recovery, ransomware protection, and cyber resilience frameworks.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Entra ID, storage, networking, and virtualisation technologies.
- Automation and scripting experience using PowerShell or Python.
- Knowledge of cloud-native backup technologies and SaaS data protection.
- Experience within highly regulated environments such as Defence, Government, Utilities, or Critical National Infrastructure.
- Relevant certifications including:
- Rubrik Certified Professional (RCP)
- Microsoft Azure Certifications
- VMware Certifications
- ITIL Foundation
