Role Description
This is a full-time, remote Ruby on Rails Developer role focused on building and maintaining core features of HummingBird’s talent platform. The developer will design, develop, and optimize back-end services and APIs using Ruby on Rails, ensuring secure, scalable, and performant applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Implementing new product capabilities
- Improving existing modules
- Integrating with third-party systems such as ATS/VMS tools
- Collaborating with front-end developers to deliver cohesive user experiences

The role also involves:
- Writing automated tests
- Reviewing code
- Troubleshooting production issues
- Participating in agile ceremonies with product, design, and data teams to continuously enhance the platform’s reliability and functionality
Qualifications
- Strong Back-End Web Development skills, including building RESTful APIs and integrating with external services.
- Front-End Development experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, and consuming APIs for dynamic user interfaces.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Hands-on experience with Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, preferably with Ruby on Rails or similar web frameworks.
- Practical knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD), automated testing frameworks, and continuous integration practices.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), schema design, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps practices (e.g., AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines) is beneficial.
- Comfort working in agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and communicating clearly in a remote setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Interest in HRTech or AI-driven products and a commitment to building responsible, user-centric solutions.
