Role Description
As a Ruby on Rails Developer at HummingBird, you will design, build, and maintain scalable web applications that power our Responsible AI talent platform. You will work in a hybrid arrangement based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some work from home, in a full-time capacity.

Daily Responsibilities


Get help with your application

- Implementing and optimizing back-end services in Ruby on Rails.
- Integrating with third-party APIs and ATS/VMS systems.
- Ensuring application performance, security, and reliability.
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver intuitive front-end experiences.
- Refining existing features and supporting new product capabilities.
- Writing automated tests, reviewing code, and participating in agile ceremonies.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of development practices and architecture.
Qualifications
- Strong back-end web development skills, including Ruby on Rails and RESTful API design.
- Front-end development experience with modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP) and Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture.
- Practical experience with test-driven development (TDD), automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization.
- Comfort working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
- Background in HRTech, recruitment platforms, or data-driven products is beneficial but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
