About the job

As Runner, you will become a part of our UK Wholesale team. Your main focus will be supporting HAY’s presence within key department stores and retail locations across London, ensuring our spaces are consistently well-presented and maintained to a high standard.

This is a part-time position of 16 hours per week. The working pattern will be agreed based on business needs and will involve regular travel across London, as well as occasional overnight or early morning work in connection with retail installations.

More specifically, your tasks will include:

  • Work with department stores and retail locations on a weekly basis to maintain and improve the presentation of HAY retail spaces
  • Support the styling, replenishment and maintenance of displays
  • Assist with seasonal updates, product launches and visual merchandising changes
  • Support the installation of fixtures within retail spaces, with occasional overnight or early morning work required to complete installations
  • Identify and report any display or maintenance requirements to the UK Wholesale team
  • Contribute to the wider HAY UK team, lending support to activities and events when needed

Role expectations

  • Strong interest in visual merchandising, in-store styling, interiors and design
  • A good eye for detail and presentation
  • Organised, proactive, hands-on and keen to learn
  • Positive and service-minded, with a genuine enjoyment of working with people
  • Strong team spirit and willingness to help, while also being comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
  • Flexible and able to support occasional out-of-hours installations

Experience required

  • Some initial retail, styling or visual merchandising experience is beneficial but not essential
  • The role may be particularly suited to a student, recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their career within visual merchandising, interiors or design
