Role Description
The Runner role is a full-time, on-site position based at Alex Dilling at Hotel Café Royal in London. The Runner supports the front-of-house team by efficiently delivering dishes from the kitchen to the dining room, ensuring correct courses reach guests promptly and in optimal condition.

Day-to-day tasks include:


Get help with your application

- Assisting with table set-up and clearing
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization in service areas
- Supporting servers with water and bread service, cutlery changes, and additional guest requests
- Helping restock service stations
- Coordinating closely with the kitchen and waiting staff to maintain smooth service flow
- Upholding health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
Qualifications
- Experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, ideally in fine dining or luxury environments
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work quickly and accurately during busy service
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to supporting colleagues in both front and back of house
- Professional, courteous guest interaction, with a focus on delivering a polished and respectful service experience
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods, carry plates and trays safely, and maintain high standards of personal presentation
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant’s schedule
- Basic food safety and hygiene understanding; formal certification is an advantage
- Previous experience in London or similar metropolitan hospitality markets is beneficial but not required
