Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor

Overview: Godfrey-Payton is an independent firm of land agents and Chartered Surveyors operating across the Midlands region out of offices in Warwick, Coventry and Market Harborough. Established in 1806, we operate across the rural, residential, commercial and development sectors for a wide variety of clients.

We are now looking to recruit a qualified (RICS Rural Practice) Surveyor to join our team on estate management and general professional duties. This opportunity offers a wide and diverse workload.

The role would suit those looking for future career progression with a long-established firm in the Midlands region. For the right candidate, with a hard-working and proactive approach, there are good long-term opportunities within the business to develop as a fulfilled professional within a focused team working for a strong client base.

The Role:

  • Report directly to the Partners.
  • Undertake the estate management of varied property portfolios for private and institutional landowners.
  • Undertake a variety of professional surveying work, as required.
  • Build and develop strong client relationships.
  • Liaise directly with clients, including attending formal meetings alongside other advisers.
  • Work closely with colleagues in order to provide a coordinated and ‘value added’ surveying service to clients.
  • Act as mentor to junior professionals within the business.
  • Establish and maintain a network of professional contacts.
  • Assist clients in managing and building on their property assets and helping them deliver their aspirations.
  • Responsibility of ensuring property assets meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong property terriers.

The Candidate:

  • MRICS qualified (essential, rural route preferred)
  • FAAV qualified (desirable but not essential)
  • RICS Registered Valuer (not essential)
  • Relevant degree-level qualification (essential)
  • Ideally Senior or Associate Surveyor level, (at least 2 years’ relevant PQE)
  • Organised, time efficient, reliable and motivated
  • Good IT skills.
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal.
  • Looking to build strong management client relationships.
  • Seeking to develop as a professional.
  • Attracted to independent firm attributes and looking for career progression.
  • Full UK driving licence
