Qualified Rural Surveyor - Agricultural Property

Location: North East or North Yorkshire
Contract Type: Permanent

Our client, a leading regional property and business consultancy operating across Northern England and Southern Scotland, is seeking a Qualified Rural Surveyor to join their rural team. With over 70 professionals across three offices, this consultancy offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment that values professional growth and collaboration.

Position Overview

As a Qualified Rural Surveyor, you'll provide expert advice to clients across agricultural, residential, commercial and sporting properties. You'll manage key client relationships, mentor team members, and handle diverse rural surveying work including valuations, property transactions, landlord and tenant matters, and compensation negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on farm business restructuring
  • Prepare accurate valuations and professional reports
  • Manage property sales and acquisitions for clients
  • Oversee residential, commercial, agricultural and sporting estates
  • Negotiate compensation and Compulsory Purchase matters
  • Handle rent reviews and tenancy renewals
  • Network to secure new client instructions
  • Mentor and manage junior team members

Requirements

  • MRICS accreditation
  • Clear understanding of agricultural business operations
  • Passion for farming and rural business
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation abilities
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Thorough understanding of compliance procedures
  • Energy, enthusiasm and professional ambition
