The role

This is a new position, created to bridge our day and our evening. You would be the continuity between the day team and our overnight nurse: Theatre prep, Anaesthesia and Recovery, MRI and CT, and caring for our post-operative orthopaedic and neurology inpatients.

Hours

Full-time, four 10-hour shifts a week, with Monday as a set day off and no weekend and Bank Holidays. Rather than a straight day or a straight evening, this is a single shift that starts later in the morning and runs through into the evening, covering our busiest hours and handing over to our overnight nurse.

Thursday and Friday will always be the later shift. We have some flexibility on the other two days, so if an earlier start would suit you better, that's something we can talk about.

You

Dogwood Referrals continues to grow, and we're now looking for an additional RVN to grow with us. Referring vets across the North West continue to trust us with some of the most complex orthopaedic and neurological cases in the region, and our nursing team is expanding to match.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Our nurses treat patients undergoing total hip replacements, complex joint surgery, fracture repair and advanced spinal surgery, working alongside European and RCVS Recognised Specialists every day.

Referral experience is great, but it isn't a necessity. Our experienced and phenomenal nursing team will help you build the confidence to nurse even our most complex cases.

What matters most to us is that you want to be part of Dogwood Referrals: part of the team, and part of where we're heading next. Clinical excellence, exceptional care and outstanding service are the three things we hold ourselves to, and we mean them.
