Lancashire Constabulary is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Learning & Development Trainer (Health & Safety) to join our team.
The purpose of this role is to design and deliver the health & safety training programme within Lancashire Constabulary, ensuring compliance with accredited programmes. To assist the Health & Safety Team and Senior Managers across the Constabulary identify skills gaps and either deliver training or work with an external partner to fulfil that need.
Key Responsibilities
- To create and execute a force wide, risk-based training plan working in collaboration with the Health & Safety team.
- To deliver specialist training courses and skills training as an accredited IOSH provider and ensure accreditation standards and procedures are maintained.
- To manage the approved IOSH training provider application and maintain accreditation once awarded.
- Write summative and formative assessments and provide feedback to learners to ensure learning has taken place.
- To attend force and national meetings to benchmark and share best practice and maintain consistently high training and assessment standards.

Skills and Experience
- Level 3 Certificate in Education & Training or equivalent or Completed the IOSH Train the Trainer course
- Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training or College of Policing Training Essentials Programme Or willing to work towards and complete within 12 months of starting in post
- Technical Member of IOSH and up to date with CPD requirements or willing to work towards and complete within 24 months
- Experience of delivering a range of health and safety training to a wide range of audiences for at least 2 years.
- A thorough understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Experience of identifying learning & development needs and designing materials and training products via a range of media (e.g. online, classroom, facilitated discussions etc).
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence

Vetting And Medical
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
